Tuition days usually take place after school, on Saturdays and during holiday periods. Tuition times range from 1 hour (KS1) to 2 hours (KS2) once or twice a week. In exceptional cases(for intensive preparation) the hours could be increased from 1 ½ hours(KS1)  to 2 ½ hours(KS2)

Parents whose children will be taking the SATS are strongly advised to have at least 2hours once a week or 2 (1 ½ sessions twice a week) especially if the child in question has not had any formal tuition in the previous class to prepare them for the SATS tests.

STANDARD TUITION FEES(HOURLY RATE)

£30.00 (ONE HOUR) for once a week.

£50.00 (TWO HOURS) for more than once a week.

WHAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR
Teaching time, teaching correctly in line with the UK curriculum(England and Wales) , using appropriate resources for your child’s ability/level(e.g past and current SATS papers), exclusive preparation of work prior to teaching your child which may be changed spontaneously due to the ability, attitude/mood of the child, pinpointing your child’s unique learning style and the grey areas that need to be worked on, gaps to be filled, preparing homework, tests, assessments and mini-reports with progress charts to show the progress your child has made, marking and giving constructive oral feedback to parents/carers and providing them with the relevant texts, websites, charts, stationery etc beneficial for follow-up the child(not all books/websites are appropriate) preparing and administering tests and examinations in the right conditions, providing rewards to encourage your child’s self esteem and hard work, ensuring your child makes consistent progress and an excellent level which is hugely dependent upon when the child started the tuition and the commitment of both child and parents; providing opportunities for children to use, practise and apply in their lessons and everyday life; challenging their ability to move up a level. Providing a stimulating atmosphere to engage the child’s attention and sustain the pace and progress of their learning all with the aim of raising standards and achievement levels. The work that goes into the areas we support your child’s learning journey cannot be over emphasized. However, they can be broken down into these 5 main areas:

  • PRACTICE: reinforcing classroom core skills by helping your child develop different useful strategies for learning
  • CHALLENGE: stretching more able, less able and gifted children appropriately
  • PROGRESS: providing 5/10/15/20mins progress tests to check understanding and application of learning
  • REVISION & CORRECTION: developing adequate skills for tests
  • READINESS FOR TESTS: preparation and practice for National Tests

RECOMMENDATION

It is strongly recommended that parents do not stop children’s tuition abruptly when they are well into developing their understanding and filling gaps in their learning. This not only disrupts their learning socially, academically and psychologically (their growth, development and self esteem) it puts them at an unfair disadvantage in class in comparison to what their peers are achieving (especially if an examination is about to be taken). Availability and effective communication is very important. If at any point something is unclear, please do not hesitate to ask for clarification to avoid any mistakes, misunderstanding, assumptions, arguments and confusion

PAYMENT
Payment is usually made at the end of every completed lesson..

If the child is not present when the teacher arrives to deliver the lesson and no prior warning or message has been given, the lesson will still need to be paid for. If the teacher is not present when a lesson should be delivered and there is no message or explanation, no payments will be collected. Invoices will be given for any payments made
